Maybe this text you’ll read is a part of my overreaction. I am sorry for those line to appear among your beautiful posts but I am angry. Not only angry but sad, scared and ashamed!
Since I sleep so late, I usually look through the newspapers of next day, online. But I only have a look at the political pieces and skip the rest. Today, I just made a change and decided to read a few more.
The first one was of course about the Air France crash, for sure. But it’s not the page that I am on tonight. The second of the major news was about the guy who lives in the southern city of Turkey, Adana. He had killed mother, father, siblings, nephews and cousins (!), eight people in total (three of them were just children) by shooting them in the head. It’s said that he shot who ever ringed the bell of the apartment after he killed his parents.
The next one, a woman from a city in called Konya in central Turkey has brought her neighbour’s daughter and burn her in the fireplace! I wasn’t calm enough the reason. Who cares about it anyway!
Is it the all? No. A woman -from somewhere in Turkey just like all the other heroes(!) of this post- beats up his little to son to death after he sees her with her lover having some affair on the field. As he dies, she doesn’t even bury her son. Leaves it there so the animals and birds can eat his dead body! What she does next? She goes on national TV, for 45 days to beg help from people to find her “missing boy”!!!!
The show goes on.. A 17-y.o-girl’s body found apart from her head (cut by a saw). The suspect is identified but cannot be found for last 85 days. The Head of Police Department in Istanbul blames the girl’s family “They should have been taken care of their girl!”
Then, I couldn’t stand anymore and change to a forum page, just to calm down a bit. What I see is an announcement about homeless dog had beaten up to kill in the middle of the Istanbul, in the middle of the day. I read further on the topic and see another link which freaked me out: another homeless dog had been beaten up first, raped afterwards. There were also some burises of cigarette on its legs and her genital part was torn apart by a stick. Just a week before this incident.
This is just usual, daily news from Turkey. The famous land of NO-YOUTUBE. A European Union candidate country. I think I should finish with our Tourism Ministry’s motto: “Too much to live, too much to love. Visit Turkey.”
